SPRING 2011 Must Have !

Ok! , so now that winter will soon be gone and the warm weather is on its way ... It’s time to get you're spring attire ready to go! This spring is going to be all about layering light pieces of clothing and wearing bright colors that go together. You're must have's will be...

Light weight cardigans: Please stay away from wool and stick to cotton. Cool colors that will add more of an edge to your outfit will be red , navy blue , browns and even white ( please if you wear a white cardigan do not pair with white pants) you do not want to look like you're about to get baptized. If the day is a little warmer than expected you should be able to roll up the sleeves and if you are not able to do so easily than the cardigan is way too heavy. Cardigans are essential because it gives you the best of both worlds... not only does it make you're outfit more stylish and noticeable by day but keeps you warm on those windy spring nights. Cardigans can be purchased at any store! My favorite spots for bigger options for the spring time will be J.Crew, The Gap, and Banana Republic & H&M

Blazers: They are a piece of clothing that every guy should have all year round but in the spring time it can literally become you're best friend and it’s always good to have more than one. I would recommend getting neutral colors such as navy blue or brown to wear during the day and more wild colors such as red or royal blue to wear in the evening or night time. The reason I say blazers can become you're best friend is because you can have the simplest outfit on and when paired with a nice blazer you can turn that look completely around. To the guys that are a little more fashion forward you can also wear a nice blazer rolled up with a pair of shorts, t-shirt or v-neck and nice tennis shoes for a day out in the town or night out in the city with friends. Some blazers also come with patterns on the inner linen of the sleeves ... for a cool look you can roll up the sleeves of the blazer and match you're outfit with that pattern. It makes a bold statement and will be completely unexpected. To all the guys that cannot live without wearing they're Jordan’s or Nikes... don’t be sad just yet! Blazers do not only look badass with a pair of loafers but also with a fresh pair of kicks. I suggest this look for mostly in the night time but a black fitted blazer with a fresh pair of black and white 12's (just an example) will look sick! Do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Blazers can be found literally anywhere for all different prices... but I would recommend H&M for stylish inexpensive ones.

Ties: Plain and simple, ties are going to be in for this spring and colorful ones are a plus. Please do not go overboard with the patterns. For example ... Plaid ties, Plaid shirt & checkered sneakers because you don’t want to end up looking like an optical illusion. Keep it simple either with the shirt or tie. The tie should just be an accessory for your shirt. If the shirt is a solid color you can go crazy with the tie and vice versa. I would also recommend skinny ties because they make any outfit look more casual. I would also suggest using the tie as a way to make a color in your shirt pop out ... for example a plaid shirt with light blue lines that can’t really be noticed, wear a light blue tie so the color on the shirt can pop out. If you're not comfortable with ties or its just simply not you then don’t worry it’s not for everybody. For crazy prints I would suggest: Burberry Brit, Ralph Lauren, J.Crew & Gucci

OXFORD'S : These shoes have always been in style but more for the " older guys" but now they are definitely coming back out and are going to be seen everywhere you go. Oxfords are shoes that aren’t liked by everybody but everybody should definitely have good pair because they will come in handy. They are definitely an eye catcher because of its distinguished stitching and if you are a guy that is crazy about his shoe game than you would love this shoe because they come in the craziest colors and prints. I love this shoe because it can be worn with tuxedos or with a pair of Bermuda shorts. These shoes are timeless and if you are the only one in your group of friends with these babies on I promise you everybody will be following the trend you created. The perfect color to get in these are cognac because they go with absolutely every other color that is out there & they can literally become you're “everyday" shoe since you can dress them up or down. Oxfords can be found in places like J.C Penny to High-end designers such as Hermes.

FALL 2010 !

Hey ! what's up guys? Its been a long time since I've posted anything on this blog but I'm back! As we all may already know fall is here and in my opinion it came way to fast but that means time to hit up the stores and get ready to layer it up ! I have done a lot of research ever since the summer time and for fall of 2010 the military look is in. Anything from military inspired jackets , to camouflage cargo pants to even combat boots ... the more you look like you're about to go to war the better. Lets not get to carried away either because remember keeping it simple its always the best way to go. Do not get everything head to toe in camouflage , remember to always mix it up. For example Fitted distressed jacket , camo cargo's and combat boots ... never mix more than one pattern in an outfit.

The leather jacket its also a big hit this fall.Top designers such as Roberto Cavalli . Marc Jacobs and Jean Paul Gaultier have included them in they're fall men's fashion line. I would recommend every guy getting a genuine leather bomber not only because it would last you for years rather than a faux one but also because you can literally wear it with any piece of clothing you own and look like a million bucks. The leather bomber would also look sick with a pair of black combat boots to give you an effortless stylish look. For guys who are always on the go ...from school to work and back don't be afraid to dress up or down the leather jacket. When I tell  you it makes any outfit look better I mean it ! You can wear anything from cargo's and sneakers to a pair of slacks and oxfords. It gives everything you wear more of an edge. Remember when purchasing the jacket make sure it is fitted ... DO NOT  GO A SIZE BIGGER because leather stretches and you don't want a sloppy feeling after the first week of wearing the jacket. For inexpensive leather jackets I recommend visiting you're local jacket stores and asking for biker jackets for the fitted look I suggest.

And as for Tops for the fall ...  bulky sweaters are a must. Its a good piece to wear on cold nights or cool mornings. They usually come with different prints on them. Since the sweaters are very thick I wouldn't recommend wearing a fitted jacket because you would look overwhelmed. A long light weight trench coat or nothing over it would be fine on a fall afternoon. Don't be afraid to get creative with these tops when it comes to picking a pattern just make sure you keep the bottom including the shoes very simple. These sweaters can be found at any H&M retail store for cheap but the one in the picture on you're left is GUCCI and can easily run in the hundreds.

This is the latest information I have for now ! I will come back and keep you guys posted if anything else pops up. Feel free to ask any questions or leave comments .

GUYS..SPRING IS ON ITS WAY. HERE ARE SOME 2010 SPRING TRENDS THAT YOU CAN FOLLOW.

- Wearing light colors such as teal , beige , orange and green. These colors will take you out of the winter era and start of the new season with a breath of fresh air. Also Blazers are always a cool way to make a laid back outfit look more dressy. Such as wearing a graphic tee-shirt ,jeans , tennis shoes and a colorful blazer. It would throw everybody off and make you feel not only stylish but also comfortable to.

- Cargos, ripped jeans ( go straight leg) and linen pants are going to be seen a lot. Its all about comfort , style and of course feeling the breeze after being all wrapped up from the winter season.

                                                        TRENCH COAT / JEAN JACKET
-  Like I said before spring is not summer so you might need a nice trench coat to wear on those cold mornings or windy nights. Colors such as beige , dark brown  and navy blue are perfect for the spring season. Try to buy one that its not to dressy so you would be able to wear it when ever you please. Go for cotton ones stay away from Silk and all those other fancy materials. Basically anything that looks good with a pair of sneakers or shoes and something long enough that passes your waste but short enough so you wont trip over it.  TRY AMERICAN EAGLE.. GREAT SPRING SELECTION. Jean Jackets have become an item that is commonly being seen. It goes great with absolutely anything and makes a regular outfit pop up a little more. Another cool thing about the jean jacket is that you can customize it to fit your personality by adding pins or studs w.e you want to put on it that saids something about yourself. GREAT SELECTION AT ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH.

- Sperry top siders , converses ,  tennis shoes and slip ons are always good for spring. These type of shoes are very comfortable because of the diffrent ways you can use them. From a day out on the town or just hanging at the beach . Get a pair you wont be afraid to get scuffed up and a color that can go with any outfit such as tan , navy blue or black.

-  Caps are also going to be seen a lot this spring... from Polo , Billionare boys club and  Lacoste ones they are back in style. You should have a couple or just  buy a good durable one. These can become very handy espeacially for those who love being outside. They can act as a part of your outfit or even shade from the sun. Name brand ones go for as low as $20.00 and can be found anywhere.

Sunglasses - In my opinion every guy should own a pair of nice shades they can throw on when the sun is out. No , I'm not talking about those Big white Daddy Yankee ones that take your entire face . Every guy should get one that compliments theyre face and can be worn with most of the clothing they own. I would reccomend sticking to black or brown ones since they show a sign of sophistication. The most popular ones at the moment are Ray Bans. They come in almost every color possible and range from  $110.00 - $200.00. I would say go for the " wayfarer" or "aviator" style. These are perfect for regular days out or even somewhere more formal such as prom. If some of you guys dont want to spend much on some sunglasses you can always go to retailers such as Pacsun , ALDO , Zumies  and many others that have the exact same replica of raybans for only $12.00

Tis' the season to be ... well dressed ?

Alright guys , just because its cold outside and its snowing does not mean we have to walk around looking like wolverine due to not grooming ourselves and wearing over sized coats and sweat pants. To be honest winter is a time when us guys can look our best because we get to layer our clothing. In the previous post I discussed how duffle coats are in... but there are also more options. Bubble coats , yeah the ones that make you look like pillsburry dough boy are in this winter. From the typical North Face 500 to the plastic shiny looking ones you see in department stores such as the very popular  MONCLER you see celebrities like Kanye West and Diddy wearing to  Ecko , Sean John and Buffalo ones that are less expensive. These coats not only provide you with warmth through out the cold weather but also a diffrent kind of look. Hey , look at it this way you can stand out a little more from the snow and foggy weather. My only advice is to stick to colors that can go with any type of shoes or clothing. STAY AWAY FROM PURPLE,RED,YELLOW anything that reminds you of a highligther. Stick to Browns , black and Navy blue . These colors are more relaxed and can go with pretty much any other color.  Scarfes are also a way to make your appearance more fashion foward. There are millions out there from diffrent designers and diffrent prints for every type of guy. The only one I advise you to stay away from is those so-called " Harlem scarfes" they're the scarfes that come in that block pattern usually in black and white . Those things were a phase , and they arent cool anymore. Scarfes are one of the things people usually notice because its over the coat you are wearing and because of this you want to make sure they dont have a bad first impression. Try to go for colors that are brighter than the coat you are wearing so it wont blend in with everything else you have on. Usually yellow , red , orange, grey or even patterns such as stripes or plaid would look nice with a plain coat . PLEASE DONT think because you have a plaid coat , you have to wear a plaid scarf and a plaid hat... it gives people a headache , its overwelming and you dont want to look like a big picnic table in the middle of winter. If you want to keep it on the safe side just go for neutral colors that you cant go wrong with such as grey and beige. You can find nice scarfes anywhere. Designer ones from Ralph Lauren to fashionable more affordable ones from H&M. It all depends on your budget. Last but not least.. the foot wear man ! I know how us guys cant live without our pair of kicks but sometimes nikes and Jordans are not the best for the snow ... so we need a good pair of boots to keep our feet in good shape. For this season combat/working boots are everywhere. High end designers such as Alexander McQueen released them for fall 2009 and also Kenneth Cole and Calvin Klein but  Ralph Lauren  in my opinion is the one that is becoming more popular regarding the combat boots because they are being seeing every where you go.The Ralph Lauren "TAVIN" boots are not only comfortable and can make you look presentable during this season with a pair of slim or straight leg jeans or even cargos but theyre really meant to take on the snow which is the great part. They became for guys as UGG are for females. You can find them everywhere from Footaction ,footlocker to local clothing stores. They go for usually $140.00. Great thing about these is that you can dress them up or down and they look great with tee shirts or button ups. A MUST HAVE for winter. Thats all I have for you guys...  Stay Warm in style peace !

FALL IS HERE ! TIME TO DUFFLE UP

So , as we already can see and feel fall has arrived and that means time to pull out the heavy duty outerwear. I have started to see guys in theyre big Northface coats and either ACG Nike boots or Timberlands and girls in Peacoats and UGG boots. Even though there is nothing wrong with that its time for us to not only make sure we stay extra warm through out this cold weather but also stylish also. This season the duffle coat is coming back and its coming back hard. With High-end designers such as Burberry and Calvin klein already releasing them in fashion shows and GQ featuring them on this month's edition these coats are going to be seen everywhere. With these economic crisis we are all facing , I know were not going to drop hundreds of dollars on these Highend coats right ? so thats why I am here to tell you guys and girls were to get these coats for way less. Brands like American Eagle , Uniqlo , Guess and Forever 21 have duffle coats for as low as 99$ which is a huge savings and in this cold weather we are having we all must invest in a good heavy duty coat. I bought mines at Wilsons leather store for $175.00 from its original price of $375.00 . It was a brown GUESS one and I have gotten compliments ever since I wore it. These duffle coats give you a prep and sophisticated look especially guys when you wear them with a pair of timberlands and fitted jeans or even combat boots and skinny jeans... and as for the females you can wear these duffle coats with high-heel boats and even flat ones. Reccomended colors would be brown or black because they match with anything you wear. SO GUYS AND GIRLS GO GET ONE WHILE YOU CAN ... THESE ARE GOING TO BE A HIT THIS SEASON !

Purpose

The purpose of my blog  is to start a site where I can inform teenage guys about the latest in fashion , entertainment and also help out with personal problems by awnsering any questions. The idea of starting my own website/magazine came about when I was in my high school library and I wanted to get a magazine to read and there was nothing but magazines for females. I thought to myself... why is there only Teen vogue and Seventeen that basically focuses on issues regarding females , it was not fair that guys did not have an option when it came to magazines besides GQ.  My favorite magazine is GQ but to be honest it usually targets an older crowd of guys. I wanted to create something for teenaged guys from ages 15-21 that met the needs of the younger generation and gave out the same information and advice that females were getting through the magazines they read. I will try my hardest to post something new everyday regarding the topics I previously stated and if anyone has any suggestions I will gladly take them. Yes , I know this blog is basically for guys but I will also adress issues regarding females too so keep posted.  Thanks for the support guys :)
